You can use obsidian to help block negativity of any kind and it symbolises self control and resilience. Black stones/crystals in general have protective energies as it is said that because black is the absence of light, and therefore, can be used to create invisibility.

» The crushed tourmaline surrounding the crystal has been coated with a hypo-allergenic solution that not only helps protect, but prevents the piece from catching on clothes and irritating skin. The solution used here has a subtle hint of silver glitter to enhance the tourmaline.
